Daisy Edgar-Jones reacts to Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow casting news.

“I am so thrilled,” the actress tells EW.

The upcoming movie is an adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin’s 2022 novel.

The Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow film adaptation is all coming together, and together, and together.

Now that the three leads have officially been cast, Daisy Edgar-Jones tells Entertainment Weekly she’s in rehearsals with Sky Yang and Sean Kaufman. Paramount announced in March that Edgar-Jones will play Sadie in the highly anticipated adaptation of author Gabrielle Zevin’s 2022 novel of the same name. Late last month, it was confirmed that Yang and Kaufman were on board as Sam and Marx, respectively.

“I am so thrilled with the casting of Sam and Marx,” Edgar-Jones gushes. “I had chemistry reads with the two boys, and it was an amazing feeling to be in the room and suddenly feel the characters of Sadie, Sam, and Marx come together with Sky and Sean. I think they’re incredible.”

The movie, just like the book, will tell the story of Sadie and Sam who meet as children, later reuniting as college students. The duo, along with Sam’s roommate Marx, build a video game company.

“I’m playing so many video games,” Edgar-Jones tells EW about her preparation for the film. “I’m finding that so fun and expansive and creative. I’m learning so much about gaming of that time and gaming of today.”

The story is, at its core, an exploration of the video game industry throughout the 1990s and 2000s. But it’s a heartbreakingly beautiful tale of friendship and collaboration. And Edgar-Jones thinks that Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow should “100 percent” be required reading. Which means, the film will be required viewing.

“This story and what it explores, that joy and torture of creative collaboration and love in its forms —be it platonic or romantic or familial— it’s just so expansive as a world,” the Normal People actress explains. Edgar-Jones also teases that the film’s director Siân Heder (CODA) will do “something great” with the film, adding that the filmmaker knows “this book inside and out.”

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow has won several accolades following its publication, becoming a New York Times and IndieBound bestseller in 2022. The novel was also ranked number 76 on the Times’ list of 100 best books of the 21st century.

Author Zevin told Wiredin 2022 that she was inspired by the “Oregon Trail Generation” of gamers when writing the book. “To me, it was just an interesting period of time,” she explained.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is scheduled to release on Nov. 12, 2027.
