(KRON) -- You could see everything in San Francisco's Lafayette Park on Saturday afternoon.

A Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes lookalike contest drew big crowds, with over 1,000 people RSVP'd to the event on Partiful.

"We expected to have a couple of our friends show up, and if a few people thought it was cool, they would reach out. We did not expect anything like this. It's amazing," said co-host Miranda Stern.

The lookalike contest was inspired by the recently released A24 documentary "You Can See Everything," directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.

The documentary follows Elizabeth Holmes, a former San Francisco resident and CEO of Theranos, a health technology company that claimed it could run hundreds of health tests with only a few drops of blood. The Silicon Valley-based company officially went belly up in 2018 after Holmes was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for fraud.

Fielder is a Canadian comedian, director, and writer most famous for the TV series "Nathan for You" and "The Rehearsal."

The lookalike contest was hosted by @threegirlsinsf.

Contestants went all out, dressed in black turtlenecks, with tied-up hair, piercing eyes, awkward remarks, headphones, and laptops. One person even brought fake $100 bills to throw at the audience.

Contestants didn't just show up to win the prize; they had to compete in a series of events to test how similar they actually are to Fielder and Holmes.

This includes a staring contest, a dance battle, and finally a business pitch for Holmes impersonators, and an equivalent marketing strategy pitch from Fielder impersonators.

Attendees at the event said they loved the documentary, even so much as to say it's their favorite film of the year.

"It was funny. It was insane. It was like a rollercoaster, up and down. You never knew what was going to happen next," said Shane Boile.

"Honestly, one of my top favorite movies I have seen in a while," said Emily Willlams.

One attendee showed up not having seen the new documentary yet, but is a big fan of Fielder's previous work.

"I love Nathan for You. I have seen the show. I have seen The Rehearsal; it's so funny. I have seen so many of the lookalike competitions on TikTok and social media in general, and I was like, 'why not?'" said Jade Adu.

In the end, Sierra Stingl and Alex Kesin were crowned the "most A24-approved," including a crown, headphones, and bragging rights, of course.

"Historically, SF has been a place for weird people, creative energy, and a lot of really cool ideas. I feel like we are losing a little bit of that spark, so our whole mission is to bring that fun and audacity back to the city. I think we need more audacity," said co-host Tanvi Kaur.

The hosts of the event, @threegirlsinsf on socials, hope to continue to bring the community together with creative and fun events.
