They’re not fraudsters — they just look like one.

The new cool thing to do in big cities is attend an Elizabeth Holmes look-alike contest, apparently, with competitions popping up from coast-to-coast after the disgraced Theranos founder was the focus of Nathan Fielder’s smash flick, You Can See Everything.

New York City hosted its second contest on Saturday, with participants once again donning black garb and making weird faces as they vied for the wannabe convict crown. Some of the contestants held up tiny vials as part of their impression, while one woman sported handcuffs — which was an obvious nod to Holmes serving 10 years in a federal prison in Texas. It was easy to find pictures and videos of the event on social media, and the crowd looked to be pretty big, based on the clip below:

The event was hosted in Washington Square Park, two weeks after the first NYC contest was hosted there. It’s unclear who won the latest contest; comic Nicole Travolta won the first competition for looking like Holmes, while a fella named Joe Sivick won the best Fielder impression.

But Holmes Mania has swept to the West Coast as well, with dozens entering a look-alike contest in San Francisco on Saturday. The San Francisco Chronicle reported a few hundred people watched it in Lafayette Park, with the winner being Sierra Stingle, a plastic surgery resident at Stanford University. Contestants were judged based on a business pitch, a starring contest, and a dance off.

Miami looks like the first major city to host one of the look-alike contests back on October 21, although it didn’t look to be as big an attraction as it was in SF and NYC.

And if you’re itching to compete — or watch one of the competitions, at least — another event is being held at Echo Park in Los Angeles on Sunday. Prizes include $50 in cash and turkey jerky.
