Could Heated Rivalry's Ilya and Shane be making their Met Gala debut?
Speaking at the An Evening with Rachel Reid & Spotify event in New York City on Wednesday, May 13, author Rachel Reid shared her thoughts on what her characters Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov would wear if they were to attend the Met Gala.
“First of all, they would not go. I can't imagine they would look very good at the Met Gala,” Reid said. “They're just not. I mean, I think Ilya would try something. I don't know if it would work.”
She added, “I think Shane would show up with a nice suit that he's worn many times before and maybe like a really flashy pocket square.”
“That's like his Met Gala. I'm going to go all out,” Reid continued. “Yeah. I could see Ilya getting a little flashier with it, but maybe like way off theme, just show up with whatever he wants. But again, has a hockey player ever gone to the Met Gala? I can't imagine. No.”

While Shane and Ilya haven't attended the Met Gala just yet, real-life actors Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams — the actors who play Ilya and Shane in the Crave TV series based on the books — made their Met Gala debuts earlier this month.
On Monday, May 4, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Storrie was dressed in custom Saint Laurent.
Posing by the steps, the star removed his suit jacket, showcasing a sleeveless polka-dotted blouse with an extra-long tail and high-rise black trousers.

Storrie then accessorized with an Omega gold watch and a silver brooch.
Meanwhile, Williams sported a custom Balenciaga baby blue suit with black crystal embroidery and tassels.
Showing off his abs, Williams wore a Black Swan-inspired blue and red smoky eye look with winged eyeliner.
Speaking about his outfit to La La Anthony during Vogue's livestream, he said, “We love that movie and we wanted to reference cinema. We wanted to do the white swan becoming the black swan."
The outing came after Williams and Storrie both attended their first Golden Globes ceremony in January.
While Williams wore a Giorgio Armani white peak-lapel dinner jacket with a matching silk shirt, Storrie sported a complementary Saint Laurent black tux with a white button-down and black silk tie.
