After four seasons, *Silo* will come to an end — and now viewers know when.

The Apple TV series is set to air its fourth and final season next year, the streamer announced Friday, on the heels of the season 3 finale. Season 4 will debut July 9, 2027.

Apple TV also shared a sneak peek at the final season, which creator Graham Yost told Deadline Hollywood “is war.” In the teaser trailer, the citizens of the Silo learn the truth: They’re not alone. “There are other silos out there, just like ours, but one silo controls the rest,” Chinaza Uche’s character, Sheriff Paul Billings, tells them. “They’re the reason we believe that the air outside will kill us. That’s a lie we’ve been told.”

“Season 4 is war. This is it,” Yost told Deadline. “A lot of the questions have been answered. Not all. There’s some that don’t get answered until the last 10 minutes of the series, but a lot of it is just ‘How does this play out?’ And it’s not easy. There are fractures. There are big problems. There are emotional issues. People you love will not see the end. I will say that.”

Starring and executive-produced by Rebecca Ferguson, *Silo* is based on a trilogy of novels (*Wool*, *Shift*, and *Dust*) by Hugh Howey. It tells the sci-fi story of 10,000 people living in a massive, 144-level underground bunker, believing the outside world is a toxic wasteland. Season 3 found Ferguson’s character, Juliette Nichols, seeking answers to her experiences outside the silo and the conspiracies that led to their dystopian world.

“Season 1 was the hook, season 2 expands the scope, and seasons 3 and 4 will answer every single question about how the silo was built, why it exists, and what lies beyond the horizon,” Ferguson said at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

As for what fans can expect with the final season, Yost told Deadline that the post-production team is working hard to make the season top-notch television.

“The visual effects are coming along,” he said. “I heard the music for the last scene of the entire series today, and I was just like, “Oh Jesus, Atli [Örvarsson], so good.”

The first three seasons of *Silo* are streaming globally on Apple TV.
