Love Island USA Season 8 came to a close and the show will soon be looking for singles for the new season.
The Peacock reality competition dating series is the USA version of the beloved original UK one. Love Island USA follows a group of singles, known a islanders, in a villa as they try to find love. The show ends with one couple in the end being voted to win the cash prize.

How to get on Love Island USA?
The main way that an aspiring contestant can get cast is by first applying through the show's online application form.
Aspiring contestants can also have others complete an application on their behalf. According to Love Island USA Season 8 contestant Chay Nehra, he shared on TikTok that his friend did the application for him.

Some of the criteria needed to be considered is to have a valid passport, be a minimum of 18 years of age and to be available for the duration of filming, which tends to be between six and eight weeks.
The Love Island USA's online application comprises of 76 questions, including photo and video submissions.
The application include questions about where you live, your education and work background. There are also questions of course pertaining to a person's relationship history. For example, "When was your last relationship" and "Have you ever been unfaithful in a relationship?"

There are additionally questions about your thoughts about love, why you're currently single and if you ever have any "close connections" to celebrities or public figures.

Chris Williamson, a Love Island contestant from the revived show in 2015, shared on YouTube in January 2019 that it's important to be "as truthful as possible" in the screen tests.
"If you create a persona during your application that you can’t live up to on the show, you’re gonna get found out very quickly," he said. "Feel free to gloss over areas of your life that you may not want to mention, but don’t make stuff up."

"They reached out two years ago, but I had a girlfriend," he said. "Then they reached out after we had broken up ... and I was like, 'You know what, this would be something just to get me back out there.'"
The series has also had in-person casting events at the Jersey Shore, Atlanta and in California in the past.
Love Island USA's casting agency City Media Entertainment state that applicants must not have any conflicting contracts with another reality TV show that will clash with their appearance on the dating series.

The casting agency also listed not having a criminal record (past and/or pending) and to be in good physical and mental health. Per City Media Entertainment, a "comprehensive medical and psychological evaluation will be conducted during the casting process."
They also added the most important criteria, which is to of course be single.
