Kailyn Lowry recently revealed just how close she and Lindsie Chrisley came to ending their friendship, admitting tensions had gotten so bad that walking away from their podcast could have ended their bond for good.

"It would be a really hard pill to swallow if we ended the 'Coffee Convos' podcast,'" Lowry said on the August 26 episode of the "Sarah Fraser Show." "It would simultaneously have ended our friendship, I think, inadvertently. It wouldn't be intentional. I just don't think our friendship would have survived that as well."

Lowry Struggled With Carrying the Show Alone

Lowry managed the podcast for six weeks while Chrisley was away.MEGA

Lowry revealed the arrangement they had made for Chrisley's absence. "Lindsie agreed that I'd do the five weeks on my own. I'll do the ads, I'll do the content part of it as well," she shared.

Lowry ended up handling six weeks before telling Chrisley she could no longer continue.

"I think that people underestimate how much work goes into a podcast," Lowry continued. "It was just so half-a---- and our lack of communication, it was like, I'm done. I have kids. I have a lot of stuff going on. I just can't handle this anymore."

The Friends Eventually Chose to Work Things Out

Lowry said the situation changed once she and Chrisley confronted what had gone wrong.

"Ultimately, we decided to work it out," she said.

She described their relationship as one in which disagreements can be intense but do not necessarily last.

"The interesting thing about Lindsie and I is that we are like sisters where we fight but once we get it out in the open, we can start over," Lowry said. "We forget about all of that. It was a challenging few months for us for sure."

Lowry also described the pair as "a dysfunctional pair of sisters, genuinely."

Their Shared Attachment Kept the Podcast Going

Lowry and Chrisley chose to preserve what they had built.MEGA

Lowry said the difficulties were especially painful because of how deeply she valued her friendship with Chrisley and what they had created together.

"I had said at one point. I said, 'This is so hard because I love Lindsie so much. But then this piece is not working,'" she said.

She described the situation as "a toxic cycle that just kept going and going."

Still, Lowry said their investment in the show and its audience gave them something worth preserving.

"We both have so much love for the podcast. We both have so much love for our audience that we built," she said.

Chrisley’s Arrest Preceded Her Podcast Absence

Chrisley was arrested in May for DUI less safe and other charges.MEGA

Chrisley's extended break from the podcast came after her May arrest in Georgia on suspicion of DUI less safe, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving and speeding. The television personality denied the charges.

She returned to the podcast in July and later spoke about the arrest, calling it a "hard stop moment" that had "tested my strength, my relationships with people that I love and respect and with God."

Lowry and Chrisley launched "Coffee Convos" in 2017.
