On Friday, July 10, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton was supporting her husband during The Royal Charity Polo Cup—and her outfit did not disappoint. She wore a gingham number, which was unexpected, as Kate doesn’t seem to wear the print as much these days.

She paired her dress—which is from English fashion brand Temperley London—with nude slingback kitten heels seemingly from Camilla Elphick Lucia and what appears to be Gabrielle earrings from Parisian fashion brand Sézane.

The sweetest accessory of all was a braided friendship bracelet that was reportedly handmade by Princess Charlotte.

We’re in love with the effortless elegance Kate’s outfit gives; the square neck, thick shoulder straps, longer hem, and ever-so-slightly cinched waistline are details that elevate the overall look. Most importantly, Kate reminded us that gingham is a timeless summer print—and with just over a month of the season left, there's no better time to wear it.

Unfortunately, the dress is from an older season and isn’t available to shop—but that doesn’t mean I didn’t go digging to find similar alternatives.

This Tuckernuck dress that Jenna Bush Hager has worn on multiple occasions looks nearly identical. These Reformation and Banana Republic picks also come pretty close with the thicker straps, relaxed waistline, and square neck. I also found some cheaper options on Amazon that don’t cost over $50.

I don't know about you, but the checkered pattern is inspiring me to plan a picnic with friends—and I already have the perfect dress in mind.
