Former Fox News personality Maria Bartiromo’s lawyer has spoken out against “reckless” coverage surrounding the announcement of her departure from the conservative news network — and claims in a statement to * *that she’s “still an employee at Fox.”

One day after the station said that the 58-year-old *Mornings With Maria* host “is no longer with Fox News Media,” her lawyer, Bryan Freedman, sent an email to EW* *with a statement on subsequent reports.

“She has been, without question, one of the hardest-working journalists throughout her award-winning career,” the statement reads.

It continues: “The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false.” (It should again be noted that Fox’s release announcing Bartiromo’s exit stated that she was “no longer with” Fox News Media as a whole.)

“Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise,” Freedman continues in his statement. “Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.”

When reached for a response to Freedman’s statement, a Fox News representative linked to the station’s prior announcement of Bartiromo’s supposed exit, telling EW that its initial statement “speaks for itself.”

Shortly after Fox News’ announcement, President Donald Trump released a statement online regarding the on-air personality’s announced departure.

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump, 80, posted on his Truth Social platform.

He went on to call the 12-year Fox vet “a total professional, and a true warrior” for her contributions to the channel, and said he felt that “fans, of which there are many, will not be happy” with the move. “God bless you, Maria!” Trump finished.

In its initial announcement of her supposed exit, Fox wrote, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” and later confirmed that *Mornings With Maria* will “transition to *Mornings With Fox Business* beginning tomorrow with rotating anchors,” while her other show that aired on Fridays, *Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street*, was rebranded as *FBN’s Wall Street *with Cheryl Casone and other rotating anchors.
