Natalie Joy Viall is opening up about her postpartum anxiety.

On the Wednesday, July 15 episode of The Viall Files, the newly minted mom of three, 27, joined her husband Nick Viall, 45, to share a more detailed version of their twin girls’ birth story. Nick and Natalie welcomed their twin daughters, Iris Parker and Dove Tomlin, on Tuesday, June 30.

While Natalie admitted she’s physically healing well after giving birth, she said she’s been “emotional,” adding she feels like she’s not a “good mom” whenever her husband leaves her alone with their daughters.

“I was not sure how I would react to a twin pregnancy, what would happen, but now I’m in this emotional state. I feel like I have separation anxiety from Nick,” she explained. “I feel like I’m not a good mom without him, and I feel like when he leaves, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, what am I gonna do? I’ve got two babies and River.’”

“He does so much,” she continued. “In the middle of the night, Nick is feeding both of them. He’s got them both propped up. He burps one, [and] he burps the other while I’m pumping. He is changing both of their diapers. He just is doing everything, and he’s like still holding me together, which I think is the hardest part.”

“I have separation anxiety from him. When he leaves, I get scared, and I’ve never felt this way before,” Natalie added. “It’s like really scary.”

She also shared a little bit about how their daughter River Rose, 2, is adjusting to her new role as a big sister.

“With River, she’s been great. She’s transitioned so well, but she also is still acting out for attention,” said the mom of three. “It’s like, do you discipline the acting out or do you just understand like she just wants attention and she just wants a hug and she just wants someone to play with her, and how do you balance the discipline versus like you can’t be mean, you can’t throw things and hit and act out, but also I understand why you’re doing that.”

“So it’s just been like a lot emotionally,” she concluded.

Nick and Natalie first announced they were expecting twins in an Instagram post shared on Feb. 4, a couple of days after River turned 2. Their big family update came after a difficult year for the parents, who publicly shared that Natalie experienced three pregnancy losses in 2025.

“It’s been an emotional journey starting with multiple miscarriages, but we are so grateful to have our rainbow babies,” Nick and Natalie told PEOPLE.

One week after her daughters’ birth, Natalie shared a picture on her Instagram Stories of her twin daughters, giving an update on how she’s been doing. The new mom admitted that recovery this time around has been “incredibly hard” on her, adding that it feels like her body went into “shock.”

“Recovery this time around has been incredibly hard on me, my body has basically gone into shock lol and i feel like I was hit by a bus!!!” she wrote, before noting a bright spot in the journey. “But my girls are 1 week old (as of yesterday at 11:30pm) 💗💗.”
