Goodbye, Alaska! Hello, Panama!

Netflix’s brutal survival reality competition series Outlast is making a big change for season 3, getting out of the cold and into the bold! That’s because the Alaskan wilderness is giving way to something potentially even more unforgiving — the Panamanian jungle.

Outlast: The Jungle will welcome — if that is the right word — 16 new strangers to this brutal environment as they attempt to outlast each other and claim the $1 million prize. The only rule is that you have to be part of a team to win, so can’t fly solo.

The season will premiere its first six episodes on June 10, with the final two installments dropping on June 17, and Entertainment Weekly has your exclusive first look at both the cast and a trailer showing off plenty of action.

“This season felt like throwing gasoline on the format," says showrunner Mike Odair. "We traded the frozen isolation of Alaska for the heat and volatility of Panama, and everything changed: the survival, the strategy, and the social dynamics. Having now seen two seasons of the game, these contestants arrived ready to manipulate alliances and push the social experiment further than ever before, creating a season that feels more primal, unpredictable, and intense from the very start. And as a showrunner, cast is everything, and this may be our most dynamic group yet.”

Who will quit? Who will be medically evacuated? Who will be pushed off their team and forced to beg another group to take them in? The only thing we know for sure at this point is there will be a lot less clothing involved as contestants will no longer risk freezing to death in pursuit of the million-dollar prize. But as this series has shown many times, surviving the elements is often not as brutal as surviving the other contestants, as an absolutely wild first season proved.
