Paige Bueckers has dropped a bombshell update by announcing her breakup with her off-court partner, Azzi Fudd. The two players were among the top picks in their classes and were highly anticipated to play together. While the two will continue to play together on the court, they have decided to end their romantic relationship.

Bueckers led the Dallas Wings with 20.9 points and 5.9 assists per game and is emerging as one of the stars of the league. Bueckers and Fudd won honors in college at UConn, including the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship. However, their personal journey has seemingly come to an end.

The 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year appeared on the latest episode of the Fudd Around and Find Out podcast and revealed her relationship status, saying:

“We’re not together anymore… It’s been a while, it’s been like over a year and everybody is gonna be like, ‘Oh my god, they’re teammates, how’s this gonna work?’… We’re still friends. We’re still cool; we broke up over a year ago so we played an entire season together. We’re the utmost professional. We care about basketball, and we’re still friends, we’re still cool.”

Bueckers also clarified something about Fudd’s draft, which had been a highly talked-about issue when Fudd was picked by the Wings. She added:

“We were not together before she got drafted, so the narratives can go to bed. She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserved it, and she’s an amazing human. She’s an amazing basketball player.”

Bueckers also addressed concerns about viewers directing hate at either player and said, “We don’t associate with that; we don’t condone that.” She also said she and Fudd would never stand with any kind of hate. Several players have raised concerns about extreme hate and criticism directed at players.
