Nothing goes wrong in Paradise—until it does.

Hulu’s thriller series from This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman begins as a murder mystery: Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) is assigned to protect former President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) inside a tightly controlled underground community built to safeguard 25,000 people after a global catastrophe. But when the president is found dead, the illusion of safety fractures, and buried secrets arise.

Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of that unraveling. Xavier, having uncovered evidence that his wife may still be alive somewhere beyond the bunker’s walls, leaves the underground city behind to search for her—while tensions continue to rise among those still inside. The new season expands the show’s scope, following events both above ground and within Paradise itself.

As Fogelman told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re going to live in both worlds. There is going to be a little bit of a start where we go on a journey with Xavier. A very exciting, emotional, big journey, and then we will also be living in our downstairs world of the bunker, and forces will eventually be colliding. That’s basically the plan.”

Brown has also teased that the show’s signature twists remain intact. “I can’t tell you what it is, [but] it happens in episode 3—one of the big ones—but then you backtrack and you start to clock things that were even present in episode 2, as well,” he told TVLine.
