Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be facing a fresh disagreement behind closed doors. While Harry reportedly hopes to revive relationships with his family, his wife has firmly ruled out the prospect of returning as a part-time working royal, according to a new report.

Meghan Markle has reportedly rejected the idea of returning to the UK as a part-time working royal. This has put her at odds with Harry as he works to rebuild ties with his family, reports Radar Online.
Sources close to the situation say that Harry has floated the idea of reviving a “half-in, half-out” royal role. Reportedly, he pitched this arrangement in 2020, before he and Meghan stepped back from royal duties altogether. This proposal was turned down following the Sandringham Summit with the late Queen Elizabeth II, ultimately pushing the couple toward a full exit and a new life in California.

Six years later, Meghan is said to view this chapter as closed. “Meghan’s position is that the question was settled years ago,” a source told the outlet, adding that she has built an “entirely different future in America” and isn’t looking to return to a “hybrid royal existence.“
The insider noted Meghan is not opposed to Harry maintaining ties with his father or continuing charity work in Britain. But she does not want to be pulled back into royal obligations herself. Their businesses, home, and the couple’s two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, are all rooted in Montecito. Giving up that independence is not something she’s willing to consider.
Another point of disagreement is Harry’s reported interest in securing a UK base near Windsor for more frequent visits. He wants to “give the children stronger connections with Britain, but Meghan doesn’t see relocating to the UK, even part-time, as part of her future. That is where their positions are furthest apart.”
