Prince Harry is preparing to extend an olive branch to his brother Prince William, according to recent reports.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle have moved back to the UK for an indefinite period, though William has reportedly "ignored" their return. It's believed Harry and Meghan left America after enrolling their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet into schools in the UK.

Reports have suggested William will continue to ignore his brother, with the Prince of Wales and his wife Kate Middleton having no intentions of reconciliation. It comes as a source has suggested Meghan is "excited" to be back in the UK.

A friend of the Wales' revealed to the Daily Mail, "It makes no difference if Harry and Meghan are in Oxfordshire, California or Timbuktu. William and Catherine will continue their lives of public service. They intend to lead by example."

However, reports have suggested that King Charles hopes the brothers can reconcile, and according to royal experts at The Royal List, Harry is preparing an olive branch to offer his brother in the coming months.

The Duke's uncle, Earl Spencer, is releasing a major tell-all book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, on September 22, and sources believe Harry will leverage this publication to initiate contact with William.

With next year marking 30 years since Diana's passing, Harry is expected to organize something commemorating the milestone, The Royal List reports. Sources suggest this anniversary of their mother's death will serve as a foundation for rebuilding his relationship with his brother William.

Spencer has stood by Diana's sons since their mom's passing, from the funeral through to recent times. He invited Harry and Meghan along with their children to Althorp in July, the family estate where he and Diana were raised and where she is laid to rest.

Relations have deteriorated between Harry and William following the Sussexes' departure from royal responsibilities in 2020, with revelations in Spare and the couple's candid Oprah interview creating additional friction between the siblings.

A source familiar with the royal household previously noted that Diana's absence compounds the brothers' troubled relationship.

"This is the sadness of it - they aren't supporting each other as they should be," the source told People Magazine last August.

The source added, "That's what any mother would want - that they are there for each other."

The Express US has contacted Buckingham Palace and representatives for the Sussexes for comment.
