It’s no joke who Seth Meyers would call in case of an emergency.

The late-night host and comedian answered a series of rapid-fire questions during the July 7 episode of *Hey Jonas*, with Jonas Brothers Nick, Joe, and Kevin, and one of them was telling about Meyers' mindset in crisis mode.

“If you had to have one celebrity as your emergency contact, who would it be?” Kevin Jonas asked. “Samberg,” Meyers immediately responded, referring to his *Saturday Night Live *costar Andy Samberg. The comedians overlapped on the sketch comedy show for seven years and have remained close since.

As for why he would have the Lonely Island artist, Meyers admitted, “I don’t think he’d be helpful, but I do think... he’d be a funny guy.”

Defending his choice, Meyers added that despite “all of his bits and silliness, Samberg has got it locked down.”

Along with their *SNL *overlap, Meyers and Samberg host *The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers *podcast with Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. However, no friendship is perfect. Samberg famously feuded with Meyers’ dog Frisbee for years, who died in August 2025.

“I didn’t kill Frisbee,” Samberg said of his archenemy during an *Entertainment Tonight *interview last August, days after the pup’s death, “much as that would’ve delighted me.” As for Samberg’s beef with the Italian Greyhound, he said he wasn’t a fan of “the general appearance and vibe,” Samberg said.

The comedian took a step back to address the gravity of losing a pet. “You know, you don’t want to be like mucking up someone’s actual passing,” he said.

“But in this instance it was inarguably pretty funny. Sick burn on Seth and he deserves nothing but pain. Just a bad person,” quipped Samberg.

Elsewhere in his interview, Meyers revealed the “funniest” group chat name he has with fellow *Saturday Night Live *alums*. *“You’re still close with so many of your former* SNL *castmates. Are there any group chats?” Kevin asked. “If so, who’s in them? Who’s the most active? And do they all have a funny name?”

One group chat Meyers is fond of is “The Tripod.” “That’s sort of a lovingly supportive one,” he said of the ongoing conversation with fellow *SNL *alum Amy Poehler and producer Michael Shoemaker.

As for a particularly funny group chat, Meyers said that it didn’t have a label but the message thread with Samberg, Bill Hader, and Fred Armisen is a lot of laughs.

“I will say the funniest texter independent of a group [is] Fred Armisen. Just got with no context a Happy Father’s Day message from him but it was a voice note as he was Homer Simpson, just talking a lot about how he hopes I got donuts for Father’s Day,” he shared.

Though Meyers did not receive any donuts for Father’s Day, “a voice note from Fred was better than a thousand donuts,” he noted.
