32-year-old Wendi Lucas went viral for a photo of herself at a basketball game, prompting users to speculate if she's had plastic surgery

The mom of three tells PEOPLE she "just owned it" because "plastic surgery isn’t something to hide or feel shame over"

Lucas says she's "very open about work done — on purpose"

When 32-year-old Wendi Lucas shared a smiling photo of herself and her husband enjoying a basketball game, she never expected the flood of comments she'd receive.

The mom of three posted the snap on Threads on Feb. 7 with the caption, "My boss is cooler than your boss. Best seats ever. 🙌 🏀 "

Due to the wording, commenters quickly speculated that she was cozied up with her boss in the photo. Lucas commented back to clarify that she was with her husband, while also addressing another notable question users were asking: Has she had work done?

"I had a mommy makeover at Marietta Plastic Surgery with Dr. Biswas," she wrote. "Tummy tuck with muscle repair, lipo 360, & implants. & a GLP. My Botox has completely worn off rn but yes I do that too. Very open about any work done."

Lucas opened up further in an exclusive chat with PEOPLE, sharing that she wanted to address the "body changes" that came with multiple pregnancies.

"Even before kids, I’d always had love handles and a pouch at my lower belly. Even at my smallest weight, there was a little extra fat in those places," she says. "I always knew I eventually wanted a tummy tuck when I was finished having babies. After nursing three children, I wanted to reinflate my chest, too."

After a "rough" third pregnancy in which she developed gestational diabetes while also finishing up law school (plus working full-time), Lucas underwent the surgeries in March 2025.

"I knew we were done having children after her, so when I finished law school in December 2024, the timing worked out to have surgery before jumping into an associate attorney role," she recalls. "The first few years in practice as an attorney are very demanding, so timing was a critical part of the decision."

Lucas sought out Marietta Plastic Surgery as she had had a nose job there in 2013. She scheduled a consult with Dr. Atanu Biswas and "immediately knew he would be excellent."

The attorney says she wasn't expecting "perfection."

"I told Dr. Biswas that I wanted to look like the best possible version of myself," she says. "Flat stomach, tiny waist, fully contoured midsection with perky but natural-looking breasts. Perfection isn’t possible, and I never expected perfection but wanted to feel good in my skin again."

She ended up having an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair, 360° liposuction and breast implants.

Lucas's recovery was "smooth" and now, she feels "better than I've ever felt in my life."

"The confidence this has given me has bled into every aspect of my life," she says. "I carry myself taller and feel like the best version of myself. I never imagined I would feel this good in my skin, but I truly love the way I look, and that feels so good."

Reflecting on the overwhelming social media response, Lucas emphasizes the importance of transparency around plastic surgery.

"The comments started going, and when I saw people speculating as to work I’d had done, I just owned it," she says. "I’m very open about work done — on purpose. I find it so strange and outright harmful that people have plastic surgery and lie."

She continues, "My body looks unnatural to have birthed three children, and I never want someone to look at me and assume I somehow got lucky or worked hard to look like this, and then feel bad about themselves. So I’m blunt about work done, so there’s no disillusion. Plastic surgery isn’t something to hide or feel shame over."
