It was only a matter of time before Saturday Night Live paid (comedic) tribute to Heated Rivalry, a show that just keeps on trending these days.
After its first season came to an end last month, with a second installment already greenlit, the wildly popular HBO series continues to make waves in Hollywood, with stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie recently taking the stage at the 2026 Golden Globes to present an award — and stealing the show for a moment with their hilarious innuendos.
Then there's the latest episode of SNL, which featured a pre-taped sketch promoting a "new" Harry Potter TV show for HBO — but not the one the franchise's die-hard fans have been waiting for...
"Coming soon to HBO, the beloved wizarding world of Harry Potter makes its television debut," the clip's voiceover states in comedically dramatic fashion. "With an all new story hastily written after the success of a certain other HBO show…"
The sketch stars Stranger Things lead Finn Wolfhard and castmember Ben Marshall as Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, respectively, as the iconic characters get into a "heated" exchange during their first day at Hogwarts.

There are Heated Rivalry-friendly innuendos aplenty throughout the laugh-out-loud sketch, with an “I am not a part of this” blurb from J.K. Rowling even appearing on-screen at one point. For those not aware, the Harry Potter author, 60, has been making headlines for years due to her stance on the trans community.
SNL viewers' favorite part of the "Heated Wizardry" bit might be the arrival of Rubeus Hagrid — played this time by none other than Jason Momoa. Harry and Ron approach the beloved character to spill the beans on their romance during the clip, but Hagrid quickly jumps in with, “You’re a homo, Harry" — a play on the iconic line from the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
