ANN ARBOR — Good records or bad, Michigan-Michigan State still is the social event of the college football season, at least around here. And the social-media influencers and stars were here for it at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Popular Brits Joshua Cauldwell-Clarke and Jason Riley (Josh & Jase) were in attendance for Saturday night's game, as was Tom Hur (Korea Pistons Fan). Actor Hugh Jackman, Marvel's Wolverine, also was making the rounds, speaking to the football team Friday, Nov. 6, before serving as Michigan's honorary captain for the game.

Detroit News photographer Katy Kildee spotted Jackman arriving at the stadium Saturday, when he was greeted by a throng of fans, including Michigan women's head basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico (fresh off her team's historic 77-66 win over No. 2-ranked UConn two days earlier).

Kildee also found Josh & Jase on the field before the game, which may not have the cache of previous years (Michigan is 5-3, Michigan State is 2-6). But there still was plenty of buzz inside and outside the stadium well before kickoff.

Josh & Jase spent the earlier part of their week in the States at Michigan State, taking shots on the ice with the MSU hockey team at Munn, sitting in the Izzone for MSU's 91-61 win over Toledo on Thursday and eating olive burgers.

But by Saturday, the duo had apparently changed their allegiance, donning maize and blue outfits for the rivalry game.

Hur, meanwhile, opted to divide his loyalty for his first time attending a college football game. Hur bounced around to at least five tailgates before Saturday's game, wearing a "House Divided" hoodie and a hat that was split, with maize and blue on one side and green and white on the other.

"Please don't hate me," Hur posted on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledging his refusal to take sides in the rivalry.

Hur is on a two-week trip to his beloved Michigan, where this time he has seen the Pistons play (of course), as well as the Lions and Red Wings. He's also hit up several of his favorite southeast Michigan food spots and some new ones, documenting every bite.

Kickoff for the game is set for shortly after 7:30 p.m.
