A grip of companies have ditched their sponsorship deals with the I’ve Had It podcast after its progressive hosts, Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan, went viral for cackling at a joke about “digging up” the corpse of Charlie Kirk.

Cash App said it “does not condone violence of any kind, and we are not longer sponsors of this podcast” in a Friday X post, one day after Welch and Sullivan cracked up at a meme saying, “We’re digging up Charlie Kirk and doing it again.” The liberal duo apparently felt it was both hilarious and fitting to desecrate the slain conservative influencer, following the blue wave that crashed down on the Republican Party in the midterms.

But other companies agreed with Cash App that it was no laughing matter. Online pet food company Chewy posted on Saturday it did not support or sponsor I’ve Had It and added, “We unequivocally condemn violence in all forms. The comments made by the hosts do not reflect Chewy’s values or what we stand for as a company.”

Zenni Optical similarly posted it “does not condone violence of any type” and had “canceled advertising on I’ve Had It.”

Suitcase maker NOBL Travel also responded to an X user asking if the company would continue sponsoring the podcast by saying it had ended its deal with the show. “We do not condone violence or the promotion of violence in any form,” the company added.

And bedding company Boll & Branch responded to an angry user who said they were boycotting its products by saying the company does not sponsor the podcast currently and will not sponsor it in the future.

Welch and Sullivan reacted to the backlash on Saturday with a social media post that said:

On Thursday’s show, we laughed at a joke about Charlie Kirk. It was an insensitive joke, and we should not have laughed. We regret it, and we apologize.

Whatever our political differences, there is nothing funny about gun violence. We’ve long supported common-sense gun safety reform.

To that end, we’ve made a donation to Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in America.

We’ll keep using our platforms to fight for the safety of all Americans.

The hosts have one of the biggest progressive podcasts around, with about 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube and 1.3 million followers on Instagram. They’ve made their disdain for Republicans known plenty of times in the past, like when they called President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement a “Nazi-style cult.”
