Ice cream lovers should check their shelves for potentially dangerous pints and quarts, as popular grocery store brand Straus Family Creamery has recalled several flavors due to the possible “presence of foreign metal material.”
Affected items hit the shelves on May 4, and are dated “best by” Dec. 23-30, 2026.
Flavors include Vanilla Bean (pint), Strawberry (pint and quart), Cookie Dough (pint), Dutch Chocolate (quart) and Mint Chip (pint).
According to a statement released by the brand, the recall is “voluntary,” and “consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to discard the product,” without “returning it to the store.” Instead, they should request a replacement voucher by filling out a form on the company site.
As of now, no injuries have been reported.
