Tiger Woods took his recent time in treatment “seriously” and is “happy” to be back home and closer to girlfriend Vanessa Trump as he continues his recovery process, an inside source tells PEOPLE.
The professional golfer, 50, returned to his home in Jupiter, Fla., on Wednesday, May 13, following a six-week stint out of the country to seek treatment after his car crash and DUI charge.
“Tiger took his trip seriously and is all about continuing his recovery and putting this chapter behind him,” a source in Jupiter tells PEOPLE.

“He is in good spirits and also can't wait to put the legal issues to rest,” the source adds.
The insider also says that the five-time Masters champion and Trump, 48, are still very much in love and that nothing changed between them during his time away.
“Vanessa and Tiger are in love, still serious, and happy to see each other,” the source continues, adding that Trump “is eager to help him continue with his progress and move beyond any more public scandals — which they both dislike intensely.”
The source also says that Trump's kids are “like family” to Woods.
“Especially [Trump's daughter] Kai, who is a dedicated golfer and around the [same] age of Tiger's kids,” the insider says.
Woods shares daughter Sam Alexis, 18, and son Charlie, 17, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, while Trump shares five children with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr.: Kai, 19; Donald, 17; Tristan, 14; Spencer, 13; and Chloe, 11.
The source also notes that while Trump is “super supportive and positive,” the former model also leads a busy life outside of her relationship with Woods.

“Vanessa is a busy mom, which for the most part does not get in the way of the overall vibe of her relationship with Tiger, [who is] also busy with his life, golf, charity, video game work projects and kids,” the source explains.

Another source in Jupiter agrees that Woods and Trump are still going strong.
“Each was glad to see the other, although they kept in touch while he was away,” the second source tells PEOPLE. “Both of them have responsibilities outside of their personal lives and that factors [into] how much time they can spend together. But each has an ex to share the kids with, so they have had enough time to keep the romance going.”

This source adds that both parties are extremely golf-oriented, which the source claims has helped the couple through hard times.
“There is no question that they are in love and [that] their mutual interest in golf has helped even in the hard times when Tiger was fighting his pain and other issues resulting from injuries and aging,” the insider says.
The source additionally says they believe Tiger was planning to celebrate Kai's high school graduation with the Trump family, but notes the golfer “is adamant about privacy” at this time.
An additional golf source in the golfing community tells PEOPLE that Woods is eager to get back to golf and continue his fitness routine to the best of his ability.
“Golf is very much on Tiger's mind and will be in [the] coming months as he gets back to it here in whatever ways he can,” the golf source tells PEOPLE.

“Golf is who he is, and those in the sport respect and like him. He will do whatever he has to to get back in whatever way he can in light of his injuries and age. He is not a quitter,” the golf source adds.
The source says Woods “thinks he is fine and can enter the game at whatever level is comfortable at the time.”
The source additionally claims Woods has been repeatedly urged to hire a driver, but doesn't know if this will become a daily ritual or not.
“I doubt it,” the source says.
A representative for Woods did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
The golfer previously broke his silence on the March 27 rollover car crash in a post on social media on March 31, in which he said he would be seeking treatment.
"I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today," he said on X. "I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”
“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery," Woods continued at the time. "I'm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time."
