- On the red carpet of *The Odyssey*, Tom Holland was asked to compare his Spider-Man to costar Robert Pattinson’s Batman.
- Holland has played Peter Parker/Spider-Man for a decade in the MCU, with his latest installment arriving July 31.
- Pattinson played Bruce Wayne/Batman beginning in 2022, and will reprise his role in 2028’s *The Batman Part II*.
Tom Holland is pretty confident in Spider-Man, the superhero he has played on screen for a decade.
At the New York City premiere of Christopher Nolan’s *The Odyssey*, Holland was asked to compare his comic book character to his *Odyssey* costar Robert Pattinson’s Batman.
“What do you think is one thing that Batman has over Spider-Man?” Entertainment Tonight asked Holland on the red carpet.

The 30-year-old actor didn’t have to think long. “I’d say nothing — he has more money than Spider-Man, that’s about it, to be honest,” he answered.
Holland joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Spider-Man in 2016, first appearing in *Captain America: Civil War. *In his last Spider-Man film, 2021’s *Spider-Man: No Way Home, *he appeared on screen with previous Spideys Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Speaking purely from an abilities perspective, Holland is right: Batman doesn’t have any actual superpowers, but he uses his wealth to develop fancy tools to fight crime and take out his opponents. Spider-Man, meanwhile, gained superpowers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. (And those gadgets designed by Tony Stark don’t hurt!)

But since Holland plays a Marvel character and Pattinson plays a DC character, we’ll never get to see these pals duke it out in costume.
*The Odyssey* is in theaters on July 17, and *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* arrives on July 31.
