Valerie Bertinelli is sharing a tribute to her son on his birthday.

The TV personality, 65, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram to celebrate her son Wolfgang Van Halen, who turned 35 on Monday, March 16. Bertinelli shares her son with her late ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen.

Bertinelli, whose Instagram account name is “wolfiesmom,” posted a carousel of photos featuring her and her Grammy-nominated son playfully wrestling and hugging in the grass when he was a child.

The two sport joyous grins in the photographs, taken by Bertinelli's brother David. In one photo, Wolfgang jokingly puts his hand over his mother's mouth, while he crawls on her back in another.

“Our days of [wrestling] in the grass may be over, but looking over these pictures one thing is incredibly clear,” Bertinelli wrote to Wolfgang. “Every day of my life has had more joy, more fun, more laughter, more meaning, more clarity, and more love because you came into it.”

“The best day of my life was March 16, 1991 and every day since then has been pure magic. I love you to the moon and back. ❤️🌎🔁🌙,” she said.

“Love you Maaaaaaa ❤️❤️❤️,” her son replied in a comment.

Wolfgang shared his admiration for his mother on the March 10 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, sharing a secretly filmed video to surprise her during her release of her memoir Getting Naked.

Drew Barrymore recognized Bertinelli’s “consistent love” she shows speaking of her son.

Barrymore then played Wolfgang’s recorded message.

“Just wanted to say, congratulations on the book launch, on Valerie's Place, on the website," her son said. "You're doing so much, you're so busy, and I'm so proud of you, and I love you so very much."

The former Food Network star launched an online platform called Valerie's Place alongside her book featuring fan-favorite and original content.

Wolfgang noted that Bertinelli was probably crying while watching the video and apologized.

“I hope it's happy tears, it probably is, but yeah, that's all. I love you. I'm very proud to be your son,” he said.

The author became visibly emotional at the video.

“I can't believe he did that,” she shared. “He’s so private”

“He just lights up my life. I just adore him. I’m so proud to be his mother,” she said.

Bertinelli shared with PEOPLE before the release of her book that her son’s love and support has been a source of healing in her life.
