Off Campus is a soapy college drama with plenty of steamy scenes and a surprising amount of heart.
Based on Elle Kennedyās best-selling book series, which chronicles the lives and loves of an elite college ice hockey team, the Amazon Prime Video adaptation follows the unexpected love story between music student Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and star hockey player Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli).
Garrett is the captain of the hockey team with a famous former NHL player dad (Steve Howey) and the plans to go pro already decided. But to stay on the team, he has to pass his philosophy class. After failing a test, he turns to Hannah, the only student who managed to earn an A. The two strike up a deal: Hannah will tutor Garrett and in return, heāll help her get the attention of her crush, Justin (Josh Heuston) with a fake-dating scheme.
Naturally, what starts as a fake romance soon turns to real feelings as the pair begin to form a deeper connection.
While the first season revolves around Hannah and Garrettās love story, their friends play a pivotal role in the series, including Hannahās roommate and bestie, aspiring actress Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Garrettās teammates, Logan (Antonio Cipriano), Tucker (Jalen Thomas Brooks) and Dean (Stephen Kalyn). The eight episode series premiered on May 13.
Hereās the ending of Off Campus, explained.

Hannah is a music student who composes classical music, but in order to win a scholarship, she plans to compete in Briar Universityās upcoming pop showcase. The only problem? Sheās struggling to write song lyrics. In fact, sheās been struggling to write songs for several years due to the traumatic experience of being raped in high school.
āFor Hannah, there is such a journey that she goes on this season, and a lot of that has to do with her past and with her music and her connection to that,ā Bright told Who What Wear.
Throughout the show, viewers get several hints about Hannahās past. She doesnāt drink at parties, for one. And when it comes to sex, she hasnāt been able to have an orgasm with a partner, despite being capable on her own.
āSheās dealt with things in the way that she thinks is best, even though there are some holes in that process that I think sheās compartmentalized, and sheās shut down some parts of herself,ā Bright explained in an interview with Swooon. āSheās found a way where sheās not defined by whatās happened to her. Sheās confident in the situation that sheās in, and sheās comfortable.ā
Her inability to orgasm is a huge insecurity of hers, though, so even when Justin begins to show an interest in her, sheās too self-conscious to go out with him until the issue is resolved. So, she goes to Garrett for help.
Before asking him to give her an orgasm, she bluntly tells him that she was raped in high school and that no one else at school knows, not even Allie. By the end of the series, that changes though when she finally opens up about her trauma to her best friend.

Garrett also has his own backstory that heās struggling with, particularly with his dad. Phil Graham is a former NHL player whoās used his connections to help open doors for his only son. But throughout the series, we see Garrettās animosity towards his father pop up as he constantly avoids him and pushes him away.
While it initially seems like this animus could stem from resentment over being labeled a "nepo baby" in the hockey world, it soon becomes clear that the issues are much deeper.

While itās suggested early on that Phil has a temper on the ice, flashbacks show viewers that his anger and violence extended to his family as well. He was abusive to both Garrett and his mother, who died years earlier.
āGarrettās deepest desire is that his dad could reform so that he can have a relationship with his dad,ā creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy told Teen Vogue in March 2026. āWe were really curious what would happen if he starts to hope that maybe that the man is not what he was.ā
After his romance with Hannah begins to blossom, Garrett starts to let his guard down a little more. Eventually, he agrees to go home for Thanksgiving to meet his dadās new fiancĆ©e, Cindy, taking Hannah with him for moral support. But when he notices bruises on Cindyās wrist, he realizes that his father hasnāt changed and he and Hannah make a hasty exit.
The series ends with Garrett realizing exactly who is dad is, setting boundaries and understanding he can have a hockey career without his dad's celebrity.

During one of the biggest hockey games of the season, Garrett and Hannahās backstories collide, leading to a devastating breakup. Hannahās rapist, Aaron Delaney, happens to be a hockey player too and is the star of Briarās rival team.
While theyāre on the ice, Aaron makes a derogatory comment about Hannah and, realizing that he is the one who assaulted her, Garrett goes into a fit of rage and beats him up.
Heās suspended for the fight, but more than that, he was so angry he blacked out and wasnāt able to control his violence. That scares Garrett and he breaks up with Hannah, afraid that heās more like his father than he thought.
At the end of the series, though, they get back together. Garrett shows up to Hannahās pop showcase where sheās singing a new song that sheās finally been able to write. After, he waits for her in the parking lot where he shares his feelings and begs for her to take him back. Thankfully for him, and fans, she says yes.
Do Allie and Dean end up together?
Hannah and Garrett may be the primary focus of season 1, but thereās another love story taking place between Allie and Dean.
After Allie and her on-again, off-again boyfriend break up for what seems like the millionth time, she begins casually, and secretly, hooking up with Dean.
āI think Allie is kind of going through her own internal journey,ā Abdalla told TV Week about her character. ā[Sheās] being the supportive friend and sheās also dealing with demons of her own. So I think Allieās on this journey of, like, self-discovery and questioning what she thinks she wants from life.ā
Although they agreed to a casual, no-strings attached fling, neither of them hooked up with anyone else after their affair started. So, Allie tells Dean that they both need to sleep with someone else before they can continue. After hitting on several attractive, interested women with no luck, Dean realizes that his heart isnāt in it and decides to tell Allie about his feelings for her in the hopes that they can be more than just casual.
However, his confession is a little too late and Allie tells him that sheās already slept with someone else: Hunter Davenport (Charlie Evans), a hockey player who happens to have an existing beef with Dean. The season ends with Dean and Hunter getting into a fight at the bar while Allie looks on, concerned.
