WWE’s Chelsea Green Considers Surrogacy as She & Matt Cardona Plan a Family

Chelsea Green has revealed that she and Matt Cardona are ready to take the next major step in their lives — starting a family. While Green remains focused on her WWE career and other ambitions, she says she’s now comfortable discussing what motherhood could mean for her future in wrestling.

Speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Green was asked about three things she was grateful for. Her answer eventually turned personal as she explained that she and Cardona have built the life they wanted and are now looking toward parenthood.

“I am so grateful that I’m in this amazing place in my life with my husband, where the next step is going to be to start a family,” Green said.

Green added that Hollywood remains a goal for her, while she’d also love to see Cardona have major WWE moments of his own. Still, she said, “what we just want moving forward is to start a family.”

That plan could eventually require Green to step away from WWE for a period of time, and she’s already having conversations with the company about it.

“I’m grateful that I’m now finally at 35 in a place where I can do it and I’m having those open and honest conversations with WWE,” Green explained.

The WWE star admitted she hasn’t decided how she and Cardona will have children, but surrogacy is now among the possibilities she’s considering.

“Maybe surrogacy is for me. I don’t know,” Green said. “I do want kids, I just don’t know how I want them.”

Green stressed that she doesn’t want WWE to be caught off guard if her plans eventually require time away. She said the company has given her a lot and believes it’s important to be honest about where she is in life.

She also joked about Cardona’s famous action figure collection and the potential trouble children could cause.

“Matt better put a lock on that toy room,” Green said. “The kids eating the heads and the helmets and the hands will be the problem.”

Green’s priorities may be shifting outside the ring, but she isn’t walking away from wrestling. For now, she’s simply making sure WWE knows that starting a family has become the next big goal in her life.
